CURRENT: PDP accuses Fayemi of plots to frustrate Atiku’s campaign in Ekiti

The People’s Democratic Party Chairman in Ekiti State, Chief Gboyega Oguntuwase, has accused Governor Kayode Fayemi of frustrating the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, from campaigning in the state.

Oguntuwase, who alleged that the state government denied the PDP the use of Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti for Atiku’s campaign billed for Monday next week, called on the Federal Government to prevail on Governor Fayemi to allow them hold the presidential rally in that stadium.

He told journalists at a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday that the state government, through a letter from the state sports council, deprived the PDP the use of the stadium on the excuse that it was undergoing reconstruction.

But Fayemi described the allegation as spurious, saying civil servants at the sports council replied to the letter based on the prevailing situation and that he never had any opinion on the matter.
